What is the consequence of not filing forfeiture in timely manner

If the state of Texas siezed my dads truck but didn’t send papers of forfeiture until 2 days after the supposed 60 day final grace period do they have to give him his truck back or what happens if not filed in timely manner

Answer

They will give it back when you force them to give it back. Hire an attorney. They will not just turn it over to you if you call and say “You were 2 days late”.
