My mom is on probation. She has been on probation for about 9 years for stealing. She has been paying $1000 a month for her fine. Recently she went to see her parole officer and he told her she needs to pay $50000 by August or she is going back to jail. My mom can barely come up with the $1000 a month.

Is this a fine or is your mom paying back the money she stole? If it is a fine, she can speak with the Judge who imposed the fine and request the fine be probated. Her best bet is to contact the attorney who represented her in her case who knows the exact details of the original judgment to see what can be done.
