Asked 4/6/2016 – San Benito, TX

I have a class A misdemeanor brass knuckles/switch blade conviction in Texas in 2006. Which was completed and was granted the option of it being differed when it was complete. i had a butterfly knife which was against the law at that time. I bought it at a store, they didn’t even ask me for an ID so i thought it was okay. So i was pulled over and had it thrown some were in the car. I consented to a search due to the fact i had nothing to hide, but i was wrong i did have that illegal weapon. Would i be eligible to get my lmrt or xray tech license?

Answer

The facts of your conviction may or may not be relevant to obtaining your license. The conviction is your primary obstacle. You may contact the State licensing board to determine how your conviction affects you.
