My question is my child is having mental problem he is a DD bipolar and mental emotional he takes medicine from a specialist doctor to give it to him he has charges against him assaulting a teacher I do not know the charges yet what can I do to protect him I called the doctor to know everything that’s going on she said keep her warm

It will be up to the police to determine if criminal charges will be filed against your son. If an assault case is filed, you would be able to present evidence regarding your son’s medical condition to determine if he has the necessary mental capacity to be criminally responsible for the charge.
