My husband is in Palo Pinto County Jail in Texas. On a California charge he has a bond I paid a bondsman to bail him out but when the bondsman went to the jail they said that California denied the bond. Why would that happen? Someone told me that I have to go through a bigger Bail Bonds company but I’ve never heard of that before. I don’t see why he would have a bond that if they weren’t going to allow him to bond out. Can someone explain this to me please?
Answer
I don’t know what the exact charge your husband is facing, but my guess on what happened is the California court originally set a bond on his case which was placed in the NCIC computer. When your husband was arrested, that bond showed up, but when California discovered your husband had fled to Texas, that bond amount was recalled so your husband would remain in jail until he could be extradited.
