Asked 4/26/2016 – Houston, TX

Charge: Forgery falsifying information to obtain credit
Court date: April 11, 2016
Recently changed attorney & new lawyer assured me he changed my court date and it would be April 28th, but Harris county system didn’t show change & now I have a FTA & bondsman wants to revoke bond. Also have warrant for arrest. I’m not sure if new attorney dropped the ball or what but he just now telling me that Harris County won’t give me a new court date unless he turns me in with no guarantee they’ll put me on the docket. He doesn’t respond to my calls and barely to my text. I asked him what’s going to happen or what should I do & he doesn’t respond to those text.

Answer

It can be fixed, but it will take an attorney to fix it. Your attorney will have to appear before the Judge and explain your failure to appear was due to his faulty instructions. It will up to the Court’s discretion on whether to recall the warrant, or require a new bond be posted.
