Answer

Theft of property of a value between $50 & $500 is a class b misdemeanor, punishable by up to 180 days in jail or a probationary period of up to 24 months and up to a $2,000 fine. If no plea was entered on the theft case, the court can sentence him anywhere within the punishment range provided by law. The Judge can run a probation concurrent with the probation on his felony, or a jail sentence can be assessed. Talk with your son’s attorney to see what options are available.
