Asked 5/4/2016 – San Antonio, TX

I have a warrant out of Collin County, but I am living in San Antonio. Bond was set at $2000 for class A misdemeanor violation of completing probation. I am hoping to get married in a month. By time I have money for the bond it will be 2 weeks till my wedding. I am terrified I can’t make this happen, and we had to speed up the wedding do to my father’s health. He is going to pass soon and wanted to walk me down the aisle. Really need a solid answer, or even number to reach someone.

Answer

If a bond is set, you don’t necessarily have to be transferred to Collin County if you turn yourself in in Bexar County. You may have a problem, however, in getting a bond company in San Antonio to post a bond on a Collin County case. If you are going to post a cash bond, this won’t be a problem. I suggest you contact a local attorney in the Metroplex area to insure the bond is set, talk about your case and your options before turning yourself in.
