Asked 5/4/2016 – Kingsville, TX

I am sixteen and still in school and have a good job but I have a daughter and I’m in a relationship with her father but I’m still living with my parents. they’re moving to a different city and are making me move with them. (since they think I’m still a kid even if I have a baby) Which means moving away from her father. We both have legal rights towards her.

Answer

You are a child under the laws of the state of Texas until you turn 18. Your parents decide where you live until then, regardless if you have a baby or in a relationship with the child’s father.
