Asked 5/12/2016 – Chandler, TX

Graduated Police Academy on August 21st got arrested March 23rd 2016 for impersonating a peace officer. This county has decimated my character beyond words what can I do about it?

Answer

I’m sure there are attorneys who would talk with you about your situation, but you must resolve the criminal case first before considering any civil suit. The specifics of either the arrest or the “defamation” are not presented, so no evaluation can be made about either claim. Talk with a criminal defense attorney and have all criminal charges dismissed before you think about suing the local sheriff.
