Probation violation

Answer

Probation officers do not issue warrants. If you have allegedly violated your probation, your field probation officer would return your file to the court that granted probation. The court’s probation officer would inform the District Attorney of the violations; that DA would prepare a motion to revoke probation which would outline the allegations, and request the Court to issue a warrant for your arrest. The Judge would sign the arrest warrant. Once arrested, you would be brought to court, served the motion to revoke, and then given the opportunity to contest the allegations.
