Asked 5/23/2016 – Athens, TX

There are some changes made to the citation the officer gave me at the traffic stop and the copy that I was provided in the mail before pretrial. There is no time or model of vehicle on the original after we both signed it. The blanks are filled in on the copy they sent me.

Answer

If the officer discovers a mistake on the citation issued, what is SUPPOSED to happen is dismissal of the original citation and the officer has the option to issue a new citation (which could be mailed to you). Contact a local attorney to review your options.
