Asked 6/21/2016 – Austin, TX

I was in mental hospital for 2 weeks, and court was aware, I discharged in outpatient from 9 to 2 every day . I was forfeited on bond for not calling to see if I was up for a u.a. every day, I started having problems again with meds and mentally, and checked back in hospital, can they arrest me there? Can I get warrants lifted?

Answer

Yes you can be arrested and yes, you can get the warrants lifted, but an attorney will probably have to do it. You will have to provide your admission and release dates from the hospital and further provide reasons for not complying with the terms of your bond at any times when you were able to comply. Specifically, if you were in the hospital, you could not provide a UA to the probation department, but why no attendance during your outpatient times?
