Answer
Difficult to say without the specific facts, but you have to look at the situation from a different perspective. There is SOME proof in this case. A detective investigated the case, found enough evidence to forward the case to the District Attorney who found enough proof the present a case to a Grand Jury who found enough proof to file an indictment. I don’t think the defendant was sitting in a monastery reading Scripture for the past decade when the police broke down the door and made an arrest. There is SOMETHING there (I also suspect you know this as well, or you would be talking about not guilty instead of reducing the charges). You have ti get an attorney and find out what that something is. After the discovery is reviewed, a determination can be made about the reduction of the charges.
