Asked 6/23/2016 – Corpus Christi, TX

I was released from jail one of my bond conditions was to get the interlock system in my car. I don’t own a car so can my probation officer give me the mobile breathalyzer without judge consent

Answer

If you are on bond for a DWI 2nd (or higher), or in your DWI 1st case there is an allegation of a blood alcohol concentration of .15 or higher, it is required by law for you to have an interlock device or your vehicle. If you do not have a vehicle, a Soberlink or other portable alcohol detection device is required.
