Asked 6/25/2016 – Victoria, TX

Husband was arrested on warrants. He is now in Victoria County Jail, TX. His charges and case there have been disposed but now he has a detainer on him from another fellow jurisdiction with felony charge (no bond) Any idea if this falls within the 10 day rule another county has to come for him or is there other reasons he would be held longer for pick up?

Answer

He’ll be kept for a while if someone does not start making some noise. Talk with the attorney who represented him on the cases in the county where he is jailed. Find our which court and county has the outstanding warrants for your husband Contact a local attorney in that county. Get with both lawyers about filing a writ of habeas corpus.
