Asked 6/25/2016 – McKinney, TX
I had numerous interlock violations earlier this month and after my Supervision meeting a no bond warrant was issued for my arrest.
I plan to self-surrender to the court today. What can I expect to happen?
Do I need to make a plea in my DWI case in order to remain out of custody?
Answer
If you plan on agreeing to a plea bargain in your case, get with your attorney and have it worked out before you appear before the court. Sanctions may be imposed (like days in jail as a condition of probation), but you can finalize your case. The DA has to know when you will be appearing in court, so your file can be there when you enter your plea, so again, let your attorney set it up.
