Asked 7/8/2016 – Conroe, TX

My son was arrested for driving on suspended license in Brazoria co he bonded out and went to his court date it was his understanding that he pay a 400 fine this was last Sept he was arrested again July 2 2016 by Matagorda co for failure to appear in Brazoria co when I pull the records it shows a court date of 9/23 which he attended on 9/23 it simply states “dates set” dates set for what? And what date might that be? Are they justified in detaining him when there is clearly not a specific date set to return to court? BTW the officer approached him and friends demanding id’s because they “looked suspicious”

Answer

The arrest by Matagorda County was justified if Brazoria County had issued a warrant. The question is why was the warrant issued by Brazoria County. You will have to contact the clerk of court where your son’s case was filed..
