A friend and I stole about 15$ worth of merchandise and right when we walked to the exiting door we were stopped by security and taking to a side office. There we were told that Walmart will be sending us a fine. No police were called or anything I’m 17 and my friend is 16 what can we do. Do we just pay the civil demand? By the way my parents do not know yet. I don’t want to be sent to court even though this is my first offense. Will it go under my recorded?

You will get a demand letter from a law office. Do not pay this sum. It has nothing to do with any criminal prosecution. If you receive a citation or any other type of notice from a court or police department, THEN you can contact a local attorney. Until then, go and sin no more.
