Asked 7/8/2016 – Dallas, TX

I have a roommate that is on the run from probation and she’s currently living in a state close to the State she ran from because she ran from Arizona to the State of Texas she was on probation for assault family violence in Arizona and the Police catch her in the State of Texas for committing the same crime and I live in Dallas Texas please tell me the answer

Answer

If your roommate has an outstanding warrant, she can be arrested here in Texas even though the warrant is from another State. If she has a warrant from Texas as well, if and when she is ever arrested, she will have to finalize the case in Texas, and then she will be transferred to Arizona. As her roommate, you MAY have potential criminal liability if you commit any of the acts described in Texas Penal Code Section 38.05 Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.
