Asked 7/16/2016 – Gonzales, TX

This past April I was arrested with two other people and we were all charges with posession of less than a gram of marijuana and I followed all the terms set to not have my bail revoked.
When I showed up for court yesterday, one person was issued a warrant do to failure to appear in court, the second claimed the marijuana, and therefore the charges were dismissed against me.

Answer

If you posted a cash bond to obtain your release from jail after your arrest, that money will be returned to you. If you used a bond company, you will not receive any refund. You had a contract with the bond company; you paid them just a percentage of the bond amount in exchange for them obtaining your release at this lower cost. The contract was fulfilled.
