Asked 8/2/2016 – Tomball, TX

About two months ago I got caught shoplifting $50 worth of merchandise (16 at the time) just turned 17. I got held in a room for 2 hours. My picture was taken but that’s it nothing else. Cops didn’t show up nor did I get arrested which I am thankful for. But I got a civil demand letter the next week asking to pay $250 which I have yet to pay because people keep saying to ignore those letters. That’s it nothing else has happened since. Can I still get a job at a clothing store?

Answer

1) Do NOT pay the civil demand. 2) Yes, you can get a job at a clothing store. 3) Quit stealing. Nothing is on your criminal record now. Let’s keep it that way.
