Asked 8/3/2016 – Mansfield, TX

My son and 3 other boys were involved in organized crime he didn’t point the gun he was not even seem on video he was in the car and he knew it was about to happen. He is 17 this is his first time in trouble with the police and has cooperated. What will happen the money that his friends took they returned it. What can be expected to happen the police said it was not a robbery because the person they did it to was in on it.

Answer

For criminal law purposes, your son is an adult, not a juvenile. The District Attorney will present the case to a Grand Jury, and if an indictment is handed down, the case will be filed in one of the local district courts. Has your son been arrested and posted bond? Has he given a statement to law enforcement? Is he a suspect in any other case? Are the co-defendants suspects in any other matters? Start talking with local attorneys as soon as you can.
