Today I went to court over Theft under $100, class c crime. I was advised by an attorney on Avvo to ask the judge for deferred Desposition? I totally forgot and went in there and pleaded not guilty plus the D.A. was not present which I was going to speak to. Now I have a Pre-Trail set for January 26, 2016 at 10:00a.m. and have not clue what to expect. I’m only 15 yrs old. Is it to late to talk to the D.A. about Deferred Desposition and trying to get this charge off my record?

Answer.

You still can keep this matter from becoming a conviction on your criminal record. I strongly suggest you hire an attorney to appear with you, lest you “totally forget” and do something that can’t be undone. Don’t try to have your representation solely through the internet. Go sit down and talk with counsel. You still can keep this matter from becoming a conviction on your criminal record.
