Asked 8/9/2016 – San Antonio, TX

In 2011 I was placed on probation in Texas for possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. I have been extended three times “each extension spanned 1 year” for not being able to fully pay of my fines. I’ve successfully completed all terms of my probation “with the exception of paying my fines” and have passed every U.A., the total amount of my fines was around $2,800-$3,000 and I’ve got it paid down to $925.

Answer

Payment of fines is a condition of probation. Non-payment would be a violation of a condition of probation. Violation of any condition of probation can cause a motion to revoke probation. Pay the fees or face jail.
