Asked 8/9/2016 – Austin, TX

I was Involved in a domestic violence I went to court and they said they would lower it from felony to misdemeanor. The problem is that my ex-wife lied about me hitting her so on the day of the court she made a statement saying she lied. Last night I was in the house and she went crazy and kicked me out I told her I would leave tomorrow so she called the cops and lied that she felt threaten that I would choke her. I left before the cops got three. I am wondering what will happen in my case now, she has no proof that I made any type of threat to her I did not touch her I did not yell at her, she is just really nuts. Would they throw me in jail when I go to my next court or would they not take her serious since she’s let it be known that she’s a liar? Thanks

Answer

A new criminal charge can be filed against you, the bond can be revoked on your pending case, the plea offer can be rescinded and your attorney will question your intelligence for continuing to associate with a woman who you claim to be crazy, a liar and has filed felony charges against you. Do not be surprised if a warrant is issued for your arrest. Contact your attorney ASAP.
