Husband sitting in jail because of revoke of probation with no bond. not happy with the lack of communication with hired lawyer so I called and he told me with an attitude that he put in request for bond and a court case. I asked him to explain the whole situation step by step since id never been through this or even had to hire a lawyer for that matter. He stated that the judge does what the judge wants to do and as soon as he knows something I’d be the second to know. I’ve spoke with my husband since and he said that he had a probation officer asking him to sign paperwork that would release him on bond but would also determine his sentence at court he refused it. The officer then told him that his lawyer would be in on Friday. Why was I not informed of that, and why do they know more of what going on than we do?
Answer
Your husband’s attorney is not your attorney. He is not obligated to talk with you, although I think it would be best for all parties involved. The attorney may be rude, but he is obviously doing something. You are understandably frustrated and want your husband out of jail. See what happens on Friday. Call the attorney beforehand and ask what’s going on. Show up to court on Friday if you don’t get an answer. Finally, if you don’t feel comfortable with your lawyer, get another lawyer
