I was at Walmart & shoplift a couple of things all the things I stole summed up to around 50$ they stopped me on my way out & ask if they could speak to me there were no officers involved the guy just gave me a citation & I will know how much my fine is in 3 days but will it leave a criminal record even if I pay the fine?

Any fine assessed will be imposed by the Court where the case is filed. This is a class c misdemeanor, punishable by fine only (maximum $500). Talk with an attorney before appearing in court. Paying the fine will mean a conviction, and this is a crime of moral turpitude. A conviction on this type of case will haunt you for the rest of your life.
