I am 16 my bf is 28, we have been dating since 2013, we would like to consummate our relationship next year bc I was born in nov I will be 16 and him 29. He is from TX, I live in Europe right now but we plan to meet in Mexico, would there be any legal ramifications for him to consummate in the state of Texas or go across the border to consummate?

The real issue is HIS family are not supportive my family are supportive of our relationship and no he is not a pedophile. So we are being careful.

Answer

Any sexual contact in the State of Texas between a 16 year old and a 28 year old is illegal. See Texas Penal Code Section 22.011 – Sexual Assault and Section 21.11 – Indecency with a Child. These are felony charges. The age of consent is 17. You would have to contact an attorney in Mexico to determine what that country’s laws are regarding this subject.
