Asked 8/15/2016 – Houston, TX

I am on Felony probation for DWI. I failed a drug test in June and was informed of the failure in July, my probation officer had not heard back from the courts when I saw them so I had to wait until my visit on August 11th to find out what would happen. The officer didn’t tell me much other than I am being sent to a Case Review Unit next month on the 7th. I have tried to do some research and find out what this would involve but there isn’t any information I can find. I am curious as to what will take place at this review, as well as how I should prepare for it. I am just under a year in on a 4 year term. I have completed the required classes and am up to date on my payments.

Answer

Your case is being reviewed to determine whether or not a motion to revoke your probation will be filed with the court, or if the terms and conditions of your probation will be modified and you will be continued on probation. It is impossible to know at this time what the results of the review will be. You may want to speak with your attorney.
