Asked 9/17/2016 – San Antonio, TX
I was invited to a night club for a party and was charged to get in. I thought ok to cover the expenses of the rental. So while there tabc and San Antonio police show up saying that it was not considered a private party and they were serving alcohol after 2 with no license to sell. I was given a citation for afterhour’s consumption. I explained the situation to the officer and asked why was I given the citation if I didn’t know what was going on. So now I been checking but the citation is not entered. What do I do or how to possible get it dismissed.
Answer
You may be charged with something more serious than a citation. Bring whatever you received from the officer on the night in question to a local attorney. If a class b misdemeanor is filed against you, an at large warrant can be issued for your arrest, and you are subject to be booked into jail and required to post a bond. Whether your case can be dismissed depends on the specific charge filed against you.
