This girl I’ve known really well going on about a year decided that we should get serious and start dating, but I’m concerned if things get more serious. I’m 18 and she’s 15 and we live in Texas.

Answer

The age of consent in Texas is 17. See Texas Penal Code Section 22.011 – Sexual Assault and Section 21.11 – Indecency with a Child. Any sexual contact between you two can land you in prison for 20 years.
