Hello two year ago from this posting I was arrested for family violence charges. Both charges were dropped, but I did end up being imprisoned for roughly 90 days. Additionally, from add of this posting I have had no run in with the legal system, aside from my license getting suspended, due to being delinquent on paying one my tickets. With this background I’m hoping that my dream of being a practicing lawyer is still possible.
Answer
If the cases were “dropped”, meaning they were dismissed by the State without you entering into any plea bargain, you should have the cases expunged and there will then be no issue with any future employment path you choose. I have questions, however, about you spending 90 days in jail for cases that were dismissed. Contact the attorney you represented you to determine the exact disposition of the cases and whether expunction applies.
