So I was caught stealing 20 dollars’ worth of stuff at Walmart. I paid a fine and was told there was going to be no legal case involved. But after leaving the state I got a letter sent to my old house about a warrant for my arrest posted at $1000. 800 for stealing, 200 for not appearing to court. Should I pay? Should I explain to them I left the state do to joining the military?

Who did you pay a fine to? Who told you there was going to be no legal case involved? Who sent you the letter about a warrant for your arrest? Call a local attorney in the city where the event occurred, send him/her the letter you received, and find out what is going on.
