How can i get a criminal arrest record and 6 days spent in jail record trying to get p.r. bond record expunged for felony degree 3 assault to an elderly where the case was dismissed? it was a family situation where the person arrested was new to USA was in fact isolated and confined at home in an arranged marriage and then accused of pushing elderly and then the case got dismissed after being arrested on felony degree 3 and the person had to spent 6 days in jail as the person did not know anyone and was trying to contact some family friends to be taken out on bond and was finally out on p.r. bond, the case was dismissed because of complaining witnesses withdrawal of case.

If the case was dismissed, you may file a petition for exp unction. Depending on the grounds for the dismissal, however, the petition may have to be filed after the expiration of the statute of limitation has expired for the particular charge.
