Once a sentenced entered by the Court, jurisdiction of a criminal case is transferred to the Department of Corrections. It is that Department, specifically the Board of Pardons and Parole, that calculates back time, good time credit and an inmate’s estimated release date. Once the inmate is transferred to a TDC facility, you can look on the TDCJ website for his/her release date. Good luck.
