Will the court test the powder to see how pure it is?

I got caught with 500mg of powder xanax on me in school and I gave some too a kid who told on me. They charged me with possession, distributing, and under the influence. I did not sell it to anyone though.

Answer

The State will send the substance to a crime lab for chemical testing because the exact weight and chemical composition of the drug determines the type and degree of the charge. Look under Texas Health and Safety Code Section 481 et. seq. to see what I’m talking about. Hire and attorney immediately and stop admitting to an offense in a public forum.
