Asked 1/28/2016 – Houston, TX

I was sexually abused by my moms ex husband for three years, 11-14 yrs old. I told my high school counselor at the time and child services got involved. My mother had me tell my case worker that i was lying and that i made it all up, my case worker knew that wasn’t the case and she pleaded to me to not retract my story. The case was closed. I’m 25 now, and i think its time i had some closure.

Answer

You deserve closure. You may contact the police department in the city where the offenses occurred (not where you live now). There is no statute of limitations on this type of case (See Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 12.01 (1))
