Asked 1/30/2016 – San Antonio, TX

I got a speeding ticket back in December and failed to appear to court . It’s been 2 weeks since and I have no clue what’s next . I have money to pay it right away but I’m not to sure if it’s okay to show up and pay it . I need help on this .

Answer

If you just send a check to the court, this matter will be a conviction and be reported to the DPS on your driving record. Invest a call to a local attorney to see what your options are about reducing the amount paid and keeping this from your record.
