I got caught shoplifting and was charged with a class c misdemeanor, I found some mistakes on the citation I was given by the police officer (my birthday is incorrect and it says I was arrested when I was not) I have never been in any kind of trouble.
Answer
The errors on the citation will not affect the disposition of your case. The citation is merely notice to you of where and when you need to appear in court. A more formal charging instrument will be filed with the court; for a class c misdemeanor, this is called a complaint. Hire an attorney and try to keep this from becoming a conviction.
