Speeding ticket in TX plus red light ticket in GA?

I received a speeding ticket in Houston, TX in October 2015. I am currently in the process of taking defensive driving. I will be completing the defensive driving course online today.

I am temporarily living in Atlanta, GA and received a ticket for running a red light yesterday.

What should I do? Should I hire an attorney? Can I take defensive driving? How does it work since both of my tickets are in different states?

Answer

The ticket you received in Georgia will not affect the defensive driving arrangement you have made with the court in Houston. I assume you are taking the class on-line, so make sure you take a class that is Texas State Certified. You must contact a local attorney in Georgia about how to proceed on your new citation.
