In January i was caught shoplifting from wal-mart. It was two lipsticks and a bottle of puff paint. All under $20. They told me that no law would be involved and they were letting me go. A few days later i received a letter from a law firm in New York saying i owed them $300 and I had 30 days to pay it. i’m 18 and still in highschool, there is no way I could pay this so I ignored it. Yesterday they sent me another civil demand letter and said i had 10 days to pay it.

In 34 years of practice, I have heard o 1 such suit being filed, but I was never able to verify the actual suit. Ignore the letters. They will keep coming, but so what.
