Asked 2/6/2016 – San Antonio, TX

I am looking to find an Administrative Lawyer in San Antonio, Tx. I was arrested for a first offense dwi charge. My court appointed lawyer told me about a plea called taking responsibility where i would have to plead guilty to the offense of dwi, a class B misdemeanor but i would receive deferred adjudication and receive a lesser charge of obstruction of a highway, but according to the Texas Department of Safety- Private Security Bureau’s list of rules: obstruction of a highway is in a category with Disorderly Conduct Chapter 42 of the Texas Penal Code, which is listed as a disqualifying offense.

Answer

You have the right to contact the Private Security Bureau directly (believe me, the fact you were arrested and charged is already in their system, so they know about it). If you can’t find an administrative law attorney, call the DPS and ask the question yourself. They are public servants and that’s what you pay your taxes for.
