I made the mistake of smoking weed with my friends while I’m on probation, the neighbors at his apartment complex called the police and told them they could smell pot coming from his apartment. Two officers showed up at his door and told us they got a call saying it smelt like weed and asked if they could come in. We cooperated to the fullest and let them in and showed them all the weed we had and made us flush everything down the toilet, they radioed in our drivers licenses and asked if any of us had warrents(none of us did) then they asked if the two of us that didn’t live there had rides cause they did not want us to drive under the influence (witch was their biggest concept out of anything). We found a ride home and when that person showed up they left.

Answer

Police now have the option of issuing citations for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. You were not arrested nor given a citation at the scene, but you MAY be mailed a citation. A warrant could also be issued for you at large, but until that happens, this incident shouldn’t appear in the system. Your positive UA at your next probation meeting WILL be a problem.
