Asked 3/11/2016 – Dallas, TX
I absconded Phoenix House and an MTR was issued with a warrant. I checked in to another rehab (on my own) which is 6 months long have been here over a month. I wish to get either a bond set and posted or the warrant recalled and ultimately court ordered where I am at now (The Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center). The administration here is supportive and willing to appear in court on my behalf and write letters of my progress. Also, probation knows I am here even though I have a warrant. Thank you.
Answer
1) There is no union scale for attorneys. Contact several local attorneys and select the one you feel comfortable with. 2) It is the policy of the Dallas County Probation Department and supported by the District Attorney’s office that no negotiation on motions to revoke will be made until the probationer is in custody. Bond will not be set on a felony MTR until you show up on the jail chain and formally served with the motion. Once you complete your rehab, retain your attorney and you will have to turn yourself in to begin the process
