I have a Class C Misdemeanor conviction and was needing a job. I was just hired, but they are doing a SterlingBackCheck background check and I was wondering how thorough it was going to be? I’m afraid they are going to revoke their offer once they find out. The court said the only way someone would know is if they called up to the courthouse. Is that true?
Answer
You have no control over the matter, so stop stressing. The class c is finalized, so there is nothing you can do about that. You do not perform the background check, so there is nothing you can do about that; it will show what it shows. I can tell you that most job applicants lose their employment for giving false or incorrect information on the information they provide the potential employer (like not reporting a conviction); and not for the actual conviction itself.
