I am a probationer, and I had to serve a weekend on Mother’s Day weekend for probation violation. My husband was on bond, picked up a new charge, and had his original bond found insufficient. He is being held on no bond, and I cannot get his public defender to return my calls. I am told that I cannot visit him for 6 months because the system shows I was released from a Tarrant County jail within the last 6 month’s time. This is my husband. I picked up no new criminal charges, my probation is on track again as it should be, and I cannot afford to set phone service up. Is there a way around this? How is this possible?
Answer
I understand this is an extremely trying situation for your family, but understand the Tarrant County Sheriff had these specific visitation rules in place long before you or your husband were ever in the legal system. It is POSSIBLE for visitation rights to be extended to you, but you will probably have to have a judge to order it.
