Asked 2/22/2016 – Galveston, TX

If a person who has been convicted of Aggravated Sexual assault can expunge or remove his record from TXDPS crime data? Is it allowed or not possible if it happened more than 10 or 15 years ago. This person was convicted and spent jail time for 6 months and have other related sexual convictions (class b -indecent exposure etc).

Can such record (the 6 month jail time) conviction be expunged or removed from TXDPS records?

Answer

Final convictions are just that: final. It is not the number of years from a conviction that entitles a person to an expunction or non-disclosure, it is the type pf final disposition on the case.
