Asked 7/30/2016 – Houston, TX

I have had been convicted of a number of offenses in my adult life and have served time in the Texas department of criminal justice am I eligible to apply for an order of non-disclosure and if so what are my chances of success? I incurred a number of offenses on my criminal record in the past but I am not the same person I used to be. Now that I have been trying to straighten myself out and live an honest, and a productive life I’m finding it extremely difficult to live down my past, and to be frank, I’m desperately in need of help.

Answer

Final convictions are just that: FINAL. You are not eligible for non-disclosure on any case where a conviction was entered. The only way to remove convictions from your criminal record is by pardon from the Governor.
