I am mentally ill and being on probation has caused me to be more depressed and is not helping my mental state. I don’t think I’m cut out for probation because this has had a really negative effect on me and my mental state is getting worse. I don’t know how anyone would understand this without being in the same position but I really need help. I would rather take the conviction and be free than be on probation and suffer more mental issues. What if I pay all my fines upfront and then ask? Or what can I do? I’m not asking to request early termination. I’m asking if I can just take my conviction. It is a misdemeanor theft case.

It is up to the Judge, not your probation officer, to change the terms of the judgment entered in your case. You may appear in court and ask the judge to revoke your probation, but this may subject you to spending some time in jail. Contact the attorney who represented you on your original plea before you do anything.
